The Value of Tree Inventories

*Please note, you should not invade a tree’s space like Jim is in this photo. He’s an expert and is also this tree’s caretaker so he needs to be up-close to it, but it’s important to give historic trees their space.

Jim has been in the tree business for more than four decades and his passion for trees has never dulled. In recent years, he began utilizing a mapping system, which has helped many residential and commercial properties in the area better care for their trees. This mapping system creates a Tree Inventory, which allows Jim to mark all the locations for the trees on a property using GIS and develop a timeline of work that every unique tree requires to be in the best health.

While he truly loves all of the trees Donegan’s works on, he does have a special place in his heart for the historical trees in the area — including this incredible Lace-Leaf Japanese Maple tree which is 150 years old and lives on the Oatlands property. The way that the trunk twists and the branches drape over the ground make it incredibly unique. It’s really cool!

If you have at least 50 trees on you property and are interested in having a Tree Inventory completed, reach out to us! We are more than happy to assist you in ensuring the best care for all trees in our community.
